MailStore Software GmbH, headquartered in Viersen, Germany near Düsseldorf, was founded in 2006. MailStore is specialized in the development of innovative email archiving solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. In December 2014 MailStore was acquired by the U.S. company Carbonite, headquartered in Boston. Carbonite (Nasdaq: CARB) has over 1.5 million customers, including 60,000 business customers, and is a leading cloud-based data protection provider for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
